Welcome to Ballymena RFC @ Eaton Park – Est 1887

Ballymena, Cooke and Coleraine u16 girls played Banbridge Lurgan and Newry in their last league game of the season.

BCC opened the scoring quickly though a Lucy Logan try, converted by Luighseach Murnaghan. BNL came back almost immediately with a well worked try. This must have fired up the visitors because they put the home team under a long period of sustained pressure. Forwards carried hard and backs work the ball well, the home side unable to contain them, allowing 2 more unconverted tries. BCC could have easily let the game slip away at this point but they went on the offensive, forwards getting quicker ball at the rucks allowed the backs to put together dangerous attacks. They managed 2 tries, 1 con. Scores and con. L. Murnaghan.

Both teams managed to score a converted try each leaving everything to play for and the home team only a few points ahead. Eva Draycott driving over the line assisted by Brianna Kinney. BCC managed another late try by Luighseach Murnaghan, BLN being unable to hold up the ball in the goal area. BLN put massive attacking pressure on in the dying minutes, only dogged defence from the home team kept them ahead. The visitors were held up in the goal area by Amy McConkey and again bundled out at the corner, several defenders combining to use the touchline. A closely fought battle and strong home performance to finish the league. Final score 31-22. Thanks to Coleraine RFC for their hospitality.
