Ballymena, Cooke, Coleraine and Rainey U16 combined ladies team travelled to Portadown for their league match against Omagh/Portadown.
B. C. C. R opened the scoring in a match that saw lots of entertaining open play and some hard tackling from both side.
The away side worked very well together, forwards and backs linking up to score some great team tries. A few players also managed some strong individual tries. On the night Luighseach Murnaghan, Lucy Logan, Eva Draycott, Erin Robinson, Amy McConkey and Anna McNamee all managed to get on the score sheet. Luighseach Murnaghan kicked brilliantly from the tee, only missing 2 from very acute angles. Lucy Logan took over kicking duties late in the game, managing 2 from 2.
The home team managed a couple of very well worked tries and were unlucky when held up on the line by a dogged away defence.
The Omagh /Portadown players battled right until the final whistle and scored a very hard fought try. Unfortunately due to the points deficit rule the try did not add to the evenings tally. The final score being 48-10.
Big thanks to Portadown RFC for their hospitality and to Portadown /Omagh players and coaches for a very enjoyable evening.
