A number of the Ballymena U12 girls travelled Lurgan RFC to play in a blitz with the hosts, as well as players from Civil Service, Armagh, Clogher Valley and Portadown. The Ballymena girls buddied up with Lurgan to play a Civil Service side supplemented with Armagh and Portadown players. The match, which was across three 15 minute spells, was played in great spirit and showcased some superb attacking rugby.
Ballymena’s Anna Murray ran in some excellent tries, showing her speed and strength. Amy Hall also scored a fine try on the left wing following some excellent inter-play with Penny McBurney. All three players showed there understanding of the game, bringing shape and know-how to both attack and defence.
Thanks to Lurgan RFC for hosting the blitz and the players and coaches from the other clubs for contributing to such a fantastic afternoon of rugby.
