In a game that could have ended in a win for either side, Ballymena will be the most disappointed. In a potential game of 2 halves due to weather, the home side coped better with the conditions either side of the half time break and stalwarts such as Ian Caldwell and James Taggart proved to the travelling management team that they still had what it takes at this level.
In a game where Rainey will point out that McGrath’s missed chances lost them the game, this would miss the contribution made by JJ McKee, Ali Burke and Conor Smyth in the home team back row and by Glenn Bailie (Ballymena’s Player of the Day), Skippy and Ben Moxam.
Both sides may rue the draw but in all honesty it is a fair reflection on the teams we saw today.
Good luck to Rainey in the rest if their season.
