Rascals Rugby

Welcome to Rascals Rugby at Ballymena RFC

Training
We train once a week at the club on a Saturday morning starting at 9:15am for around 60 minutes (sometimes less in the cold.)
We have a large number of coaches and certified first aiders for our set up but we actively encourage parents to get involved, and support those who want to take qualifications, so there are enough for all the players to have a great time.
Joining the Rascals
For details on joining please look at the Registration Page.
If you have any specific questions around joining the Rascals please contact the Mini Rugby Convenor – Eamon Scullion.
Appropriate Attire
Rascals rugby is non contact. The IRFU has banned players from wearing boots with metal blade type studs, zipped clothing and hooded tops during training or matches as these increase the risk of injury. Parents are asked to ensure that children have the proper boots and wear appropriate clothing. You may also wish to consider a headguard for your child, although care must be taken to ensure it fits properly.
Aims for the Season
At this age group the focus is on developing core skills and varying the game.
Our simple aims – Fun, Fun and to inspire an early love of rugby.
