The Ballymena Senior Women 1XV took to Hegarty’s on 26/01 vs Queens 2XV for their hugely anticipated Suzanne Fleming Cup semi-final.
In wet, windy and wild conditions, the Ballymena Senior Women came out guns blazing and brought the heat to their opponents. With some amazing carrying, slick hands and bursting pace, the senior women dotted across the white line time after time again to end the first half 43-0.
The second half was much of the same for Ballymena, getting over for numerous tries and converting a couple to extend their lead to 58-0. The match finished there early and Ballymena were crowned as winners, and taking their well-deserved spot into the Suzanne Fleming Cup final, which is to be played at Kingspan on 15th March.
An amazing performance to everyone involved today and it’s great to see all the hard work paying off. Thank you to Queens for the fixture and speedy recovery for any injuries sustained. Thanks to the referee as well and to all our sponsors for their continuous support.
The next fixture will be a league game against City of Derry at home on 9th February. All support would be welcome
