Welcome to Ballymena RFC @ Eaton Park – Est 1887

The boys youth teams travelled to Limavady for their first away game of the season on Saturday.  U14s and U18s came away with wins, but the U16s narrowly lost to the hosts.

In a scrappy game the U18s raced to an early lead with wing Harry Young being put through following a scrum which was won against the head on 7 minutes.  Try number 2 also came from a scrum with a training ground move finished off by number 8 Tyrese Dunlop.

The game became increasingly scrappy and Ballymena defended very well for 10 minutes in their own 22 with some tenacious tackling.  However they relieved pressure when they won a penalty at the breakdown and James Orr sent a superb kick into the corner to set up another set piece try, Noah Carson finishing off a line out maul on the stroke of half time.

The second half started like the first with prop Timmy McNabney going over the whitewash following some nice phase play and offloading and Alfie Logan finished the scoring following a series of phases of play in the opposition 22. James Orr converted all tries for a 100% kicking record, final score 35-0.

U18s won 35-0

U16s lost 34-31

U41s won 40-0
