🏉😊 U16 IN ACTION IN COLERAINE😊🏉
In a tightly contested training game on Sunday afternoon, Ballymena RFC U16 Girls put in a spirited performance against Coleraine, narrowly losing 19-15. Despite some early rustiness, the Ballymena girls showed great determination and flashes of skill that promise a strong season ahead.
Coleraine took the lead early on, capitalizing on some handling errors from Ballymena as they found their rhythm. However, once settled, Ballymena responded with some well-worked tries, demonstrating their ability to shift the ball wide and play with pace.
The Ballymena forwards battled hard in the breakdowns, securing clean ball for the backs, while defensively, the team showed resilience against Coleraine’s attacking surges. Standout performances from several players saw Ballymena claw their way back into the game, scoring some fantastic team tries to stay within touching distance of Coleraine.
In the end, Coleraine managed to hold on to their slim lead, but Ballymena can take pride in their overall performance. The team’s improvement as the game progressed is a positive sign, with plenty of potential for growth in the coming weeks.
Next up for Ballymena RFC U16 Girls is the “Let’s Play” event at Cooke RFC next Sunday, where the squad will continue building momentum as they prepare for the competitive season.
