It was with great sadness that Directors informed members and friends of the recent passing of highly esteemed and long serving member Dr. Hugo Simpson.
Hugo a Past Chairman, was also our highly respected and much loved 1st XV doctor for many seasons. A role in which he not only travelled all over Ireland looking after our players, but added greatly to everyones memories and enjoyment of the weekend.
Such was Hugo’s love of rugby, that his wish was in lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations should be made to the I.R.F.U. Charitable Trust.
In order to facilitate Hugo’s request, the Club has set up a funding page for any past players, members or friends who may wish to contribute in Hugo’s memory.
The funding page, which can be accessed below. will be open until 30th November. Contributions and a donation from the Club will then be sent to the Charitable Trust, a fitting charity, set up to care for players injured playing the game.
